Davey
Toyota Hiace (Japanese Import)
Ash brought her Japanese imported Hiace to us to all the way from Melbourne, providing her own design/layout and asking for it to bring the vibe from our ‘HULA’ build (dark walnut floor, tassie oak, splashes of rattan and an ode to Hula with the Pineapple Traders ‘hula girl knobs’).
Davey comes equipped with 240 and 12v outlets powered by a 120-amp hr battery, 1000w inverter, and a mains system, fitted by AC Darcy. The air is efficiently circulated by both a rooftop fav/vent and Sirocco fan and the space is lit up by down-lights in the roof and a reading light on the wall. We’ve blocked out the passenger side rear windows completely; allowing for a space to sit upright on the bed and installed a window on the opposing side between the overheads and bedside cabinet allowing for light and a view.
We love the countertop sink + extendable tap which provides running water inside and the capability to have a shower outside when needed. Underneath the L-shaped bench space inside of the cabin you’ll find a slide out kitchen, storage space for food/cooking utensils and a 110L upright fridge. Move outside and slide open the passenger-side sliding door any you’ll find the electrical station with all the bells and whistles, 2x42L water tanks and a 12v water pump all installed by a local Auto electrician and plumber.

Moving through to the rear you’ll find our standard bed base system of 2x drawers+ table combo (from the rear) and 2 huge cabinets from the front coincide with overheads and a long bedside cabinet to provide ample storage internally.
